About Human Design, curiosity, and the desire to understand how everything is connected.
I’m Anne Van Genechten, the person behind Human Design EU. I’m someone who loves to explore, make connections, and understand how things really work. When a subject captures my interest, I’m not easily satisfied with a superficial explanation. I want to know what’s behind it and, more importantly, how all the different pieces fit together.
That curiosity has been a common thread throughout my life. Over the years, I’ve been involved in many different fields, including working as a correspondent for a major national newspaper. I covered local events, culture, and politics. It was work that suited me particularly well because it allowed me not only to gather information but also to turn it into a clear and accessible story. Investigating facts, considering different perspectives, and communicating what truly matters are skills I still use today.
Alongside my interest in research and writing, I’ve also spent a considerable part of my life bringing people together. I led a major international project that brought two young people from every EU country to Belgium to discover our culture, science, and leisure activities. I also ran an association for singles, organizing cultural and recreational activities that gave people the opportunity to get to know each other naturally and without pressure.
At first glance, these activities might seem to have little in common. But looking back on them today, I can see a remarkable connection. Exploring, organizing, sharing knowledge, and connecting people are themes that have appeared again and again throughout my life.
What My Own Human Design Revealed to Me
When I began exploring Human Design, I discovered that many of these recurring themes were also reflected in my own chart.
I’m an Emotional Projector with a 5/1 Profile. The investigative nature of the first Line and the practical, solution-oriented qualities of the fifth Line fit beautifully with my need to understand things thoroughly and then put that knowledge to practical use. My Channel 48-16, the Channel of Talent, reinforces this interest in depth, study, and the continuous development of skills. And I certainly haven’t finished learning about Human Design. The more I explore it, the more connections I discover.
My Conscious Sun is in Gate 37, while my Conscious Earth is in Gate 40. Together, they form the Channel of Community, which revolves around connection, cooperation, and reciprocity. When I think back to the international youth project and the singles association, I clearly recognize my desire to bring people together and contribute to a community.
My Left Angle Cross of Migration (37/40 | 5/35), which belongs to the Quarter of Initiation, also fits into this picture. This Incarnation Cross brings together the themes of community, rhythm, experiences, and change. I particularly recognize the theme of guiding people towards new experiences and insights in many of the activities I’ve undertaken throughout my life.
What makes this so interesting to me is that I knew absolutely nothing about Human Design at the time. I wasn’t making decisions based on a chart. It was only afterwards that I discovered how certain themes in my Design seemed to align with things I had already done in my life.
Why I Prefer Writing to Making Videos
As a Projector, my Strategy is to wait for the invitation. I strongly recognize this in the way I work today. When someone asks me a specific question, it naturally encourages me to investigate further and share what I know. Many of my blog articles begin this way, especially when the answer isn’t readily available online.
My defined Throat Center and Channel 48-16 reflect my need to express knowledge and skills I’ve developed over time. I also recognize the influence of my Mercury in Gate 22, which in Human Design is associated with the emotional side of communication, in the way I like to write: clearly, naturally, and without unnecessarily complicated language.
That’s why I don’t try to explain Human Design in a thirty-second reel or a handful of images with text. The system is far too extensive for that, and its different elements are too closely interconnected.
With my Human Design Blueprint, I want to give people an introduction to the foundations of their own Design, allowing them to decide for themselves whether they want to explore it further. Those who wish to go deeper can choose a comprehensive Deep Reading, in which I bring together the different elements of their chart to create a personal, coherent story.
I also share my knowledge through my “Learn to Read Human Design Charts” course (coming soon), where I teach others how to look beyond the individual meanings of Gates, Channels, Centers, and Profiles.
Behind Every Chart Is a Human Being
I don’t see Human Design as a system that determines who you are or how you should live your life. To me, it’s a tool that can help you understand yourself better, recognize patterns, and explore what genuinely feels right for you.
My own life story, which I’ve shared in a separate blog article, illustrates why I believe it’s so important to look beyond the individual elements of a chart. My work as a journalist, the projects in which I brought people together, and my current activities in Human Design may seem very different. Yet when I look at them side by side, I recognize the same interests and recurring themes.
And that is precisely what I do in my Deep Readings and what I want to teach others through my course. It’s not about collecting descriptions of individual elements, but about recognizing connections and understanding how those different elements come together to form a meaningful whole.
Because behind every chart is a human being with a unique story. And that story deserves more than a handful of disconnected keynotes.
Love, Anne
